Three Cheers for Ginger Beer

Ginger Beer Lemonade

Ingredients
3 to 4 large lemons (yielding 3/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice)
1/4 cup granulated white sugar (or more, if desired)
1 1/4 cups water
One 12-ounce bottle Reed’s Ginger Beer (non-alcoholic)
Lemon slices/wedges for garnish, if desired

Instructions
Juice the lemons into a medium pitcher
Add the sugar and water, and stir to combine
Add the ginger beer, and stir to combine
Serve over ice
Garnish with additional lemon wedges/slices, if desired

Cinco de…Derby!

In honor of the fact that both Cinco de Mayo AND the Kentucky Derby fall on the same day this year, we wanted to share two special drink recipes. Enjoy!

Classic Mint Julep

Ingredients
3 fresh mint leaves
1 tablespoon mint simple syrup
Crushed ice
1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) bourbon
1 (4-inch) cocktail straw or coffee stirrer
1 fresh mint sprig
Powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions
Place mint leaves and mint simple syrup in a chilled julep cup
Gently press leaves against cup with back of spoon to release flavors
Pack cup tightly with crushed ice; pour bourbon over ice
Insert straw, place mint sprig directly next to straw, and serve immediately
Sprinkle with powdered sugar (optional)

Classic Frozen Margarita 

Ingredients
4 ounces Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila
2 ounces Triple Sec
2 ounces lime juice
1 ounce simple syrup (heat 1/2 water, 1/2 sugar until it becomes a syrup)
3 cups of ice
Coarse salt
Lime juice

Instructions
Rim margarita glasses in lime juice, dip in salt and set aside
Add all ingredients to blender and blend together
Pour into rimmed glasses and garnish with a lime slice

Flowers and Cocktails

Lillet Rose Spring Cocktail

Ingredients
12 oz  Lillet Rose
12 oz Ruby Red grapefruit juice
6 oz gin
6 edible flower blossoms (optional)

Instructions
Combine 6 ounces Lillet, 6 ounces grapefruit juice, 3 ounces gin, and ice in a cocktail shaker
Shake until well chilled
Strain and divide cocktail among 3 stemmed cocktail glasses, such as Champagne coupes
Repeat
Garnish with flowers
Serve immediately

Mocktail Mojito Mama

In honor of friends who recently found out that they were expecting, we wanted to feature a delicious mocktail for those fabulous future moms!

Kiwi Mojito

Ingredients
1/4 green kiwi, peeled
1/3 lime, cut into thin wedges
6 large mint leaves
Crushed ice (small cubed will work as well)
2 teaspoons agave nectar
Splash of ginger ale
Club soda

Instructions
Put the kiwi, lime slices, and mint leaves in a tall glass and muddle (thoroughly crush with a muddler, pestle, or back of a large spoon)
Fill the glass 2/3 of the way with ice
Add the agave nectar and a splash of ginger ale and stir
Fill the rest of the glass with club soda and stir again
Garnish with a slice of kiwi and some whole mint leaves

Paloma Perfection

Ingredients
1 1/2 shots of tequila
Juice of half a ruby grape fruit
1/2 shot of agave syrup or sugar syrup
75ml club soda
Squirt of fresh lime juice (optional)

Instructions
Mix the grapefruit juice, tequila and sugar syrup until well mixed
Pour over a tall glass filled with ice and top up with soda water
Add a squirt of lime juice and rim the glass with salt (optional)

Lemonade with a Twist

Rhubarb and Strawberry Lemonade

Ingredients
3 1/2 cups water
1 pound rhubarb, cut into roughly 1-inch dices
1/3 cup honey or agave
zest of 2 lemons
3 cups of strawberries, halved
1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice

Instructions
In a large pot, bring the water to a boil along with the rhubarb, honey or agave and lemon zest
Reduce the heat down and let everything simmer, covered for about 15 minutes
Add the strawberries and simmer for another 2-3 minutes
Remove from the stove and let cool completely
Place the mixture in a blender with the lemon juice and puree until completely smooth
Refrigerate until completely cold

Sweet on Sangria

Strawberry Basil Sangria

Ingredients

½ lb of fresh strawberries
1 apple
1 ounce of fresh whole basil leaves
1 bottle of Cline Cellar’s Cool Climate Chardonnay
½ cup organic sugar
1 cup of club soda
1 cup of white grape juice

Instructions

Trim and thinly slice the strawberries
Slice and dice the apple into very small pieces
Score the basil leaves with a fork
Layer the fruit, sugar and basil in a large pitcher and let sit for 10 minutes
Add the club soda first and then the remaining liquids. Stir well and serve

Happy Hour: St. Patty’s Day

Even green beer can look cute with some ribbon and a mason jar!

Ingredients
1 can or bottle of your favorite light beer
1 drop of green food coloring
A mason jar and festive, green ribbon

Instructions
Pour the beer into a mason jar, filling all the way up
Add one drop of green food coloring and stir
Serve cold with a green ribbon tied around the mouth of the jar

When life gives you lemons…mix them with champagne, gin and St. Germain!

Brooklyn Beauty

Ingredients
2 pieces lemon rind
5 ounces gin
2 ounces St. Germain
1 1/2 ounces lemon juice
1/2 to 2/3 cup Prosecco or Champagne (for topping off)
2 pieces curled lemon rind or lemon wheels (for garnish)

Instructions
In a shaker, combine your gin, St. Germain, and lemon juice
Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds
Strain into your glasses and top off with Prosecco or Champagne
Garnish with a lemon twist or wheel and serve

Happy Hour: Mad for Margs


A yummy, fresh twist on this happy hour favorite!

Blood Orange Margaritas

Ingredients
3 oz tequila
2 oz Triple Sec
2 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
4 oz fresh-squeezed blood orange juice (~3-4 oranges)
1 oz agave nectar
kosher salt on plate, for rim
Blood orange slices, for garnish

Instructions
Run slice of orange around rim of glass
Dip the rim of two small glasses into the salt, fill with ice, and set aside
Mix tequila, Triple Sec, lime, and orange juices well
Taste for sweetness and add agave if desired
Pour into glasses
Garnish with slices of orange
